Between the nylon plates are patented vulcanized rubber discs that give the same low bounce as a regular puck. The rubber coating on the outside of the puck feels like the outside edges of a regular puck. The training puck has been developed with this technology to simulate the gliding properties, bounce and surface of a normal hockey puck. That way, players can go directly from off-ice training with a training puck to playing on the ice with a normal puck without noticing any difference.
